FMG has been servicing rural New Zealand since 1905. In the generations since our inception, we have built up a base of expertise and experience that is second to none, and earned the trust and support of the communities that we serve.

FMG was established as a mutual. We have retained this status which allows us to work for our customers, with profits retained in the business providing for continual improvement of products and services and ensuring customers of increased surety when dealing with FMG.

As well as having products that are tailor made to the requirements of the rural sector, FMG’s staff are local people who understand their local community. FMG has mobile Rural Managers spread throughout the country who spend the majority of their time out and about visiting customers at their farm, home or place of work.

Although we were established as a provider of insurance to farmers, today our target market and the services that we offer have expanded. In addition to our Rural, Home, Lifestyle and Business insurance packages, we now also offer vehicle & equipment finance, investments, life insurance and a specialist investment advisory service. Our customer base has also expanded to include all those who live on the land, work on the land or support those who do.
