Farmers' Mutual Group Bill passed by Parliament
It is our great pleasure to announce that the Farmers' Mutual Group Bill was read for the second and third time in Parliament on Wednesday 15th August 2007, and passed through all stages.
This milestone in FMG's history has been achieved significantly ahead of schedule, thanks to the support and encouragement of our members and staff, the Bill's promoter the Honourable Steve Maharey, and the Primary Production Select Committee.
The hard work has been done to ensure we preserve and enhance our mutual status, while at the same allowing us to expand and grow the products and services we can offer to our customers, and enhance our governance and accountability.
At our AGM held on Tuesday 28th August 2007, our members voted to adopt the new Constitution of the new Farmers' Mutual Group. The Act has received Royal Assent and will come into effect once the Constitution is lodged with the Registrar of Companies.
Thank you to all those who have worked hard to bring about this historic event and we look forward to your continued support.
