Canterbury earthquake

FMG’s role is to be there when our clients need us most and that's why we've come up with a five point plan around the Canterbury earthquake recovery.

FMG's five point plan to help Canterbury recover.

  • FMG is continuing to provide cover and support to existing clients.
  • We have settled 65% of claims for our clients who suffered damage during the 2010-2011 Canterbury earthquakes and we will continue to make payments.*
  • We have worked alongside government agencies such as EQC and CERA to advocate on our clients behalf.
  • FMG has maintained a consistent presence in Christchurch and has continued to invest in people, and premises, with a new office.
  • We continue to work with project specialists Maxim to provide project management and building support.

 * Percentage of claims settled as of 14/06/2012.

What happens next?

FMG assessors and our building project management company, Maxim, are continuing to carry out our assessments of all customer claims in Canterbury. Once your assessment has been completed and costed you will receive further information from FMG, which provides your insurance decision options.

FMG will continue to assess houses in all of the classified zones as a key priority and will continue to consult with customers throughout this process.
