We’re looking for graduates with:

  • A land based, primary industry, business, or other relevant degree
  • A strong affinity for the rural sector
  • The motivation and drive to succeed in an organisation where you’ll build a fantastic career, not just have a job

Why should I apply?

These include:

  • Financial assistance to complete the ANZIIF Certificate in General Insurance
  • Accommodation and a living allowance during your induction and training phase
  • A market competitive salary
  • The chance to fast-track into one of our frontline roles
  • A blackberry, laptop and a company car (dependent on your role)
  • Life insurance and disability income protection paid for by FMG
  • Discounts available on some FMG products
  • Discounts through some of our partners, for example Farmlands, Swazi and Southern Cross

How do I apply?

You’ll need to complete the FMG Graduate Programme application form, and supply a CV and cover letter.  The link to do this will be available when applications open in May.

We’ll get back to all applicants within four weeks of the closing date and will let you know then if we want to progress further with your application.

How does the programme work and where will I be based?

The programme takes between 12 and 18 months and is split into two parts.

  • For the first four to six months you’ll be Palmerston North attending orientation, training and learning about our different business units.
  • The next six to 12 months is when you become a Trainee Graduate.  You could be based at any of our 26 offices nationwide for this.

Once you’ve successfully completed the programme you’ll become a Rural Consultant, Rural Manager, or a Commercial Manager.  Your final location will be decided by the role available so it’s important to make sure you’re flexible about re-locating.  FMG will of course help with the cost of the move and take your preference into consideration.
