New Agri Advocate, Career Creator.

Emma started her HR career at FMG and hasn’t once looked back. Since working at FMG she has become a career creator and an agricultural advocate.

Emma’s the first to admit FMG wasn’t an obvious choice for her. “There isn’t a rural bone in my body and I thought I would really struggle at FMG not having a rural background, but now I wouldn’t be anywhere else! I feel a real sense of purpose here and I now have a new found respect for the agriculture industry in New Zealand. I feel an immense lot of pride in what I do; I really do feel like I’m supporting this important industry.”

One way Emma does this is through her management of the FMG’s Graduate Programme. “Every year we recruit four to eight agriculture graduates to FMG. These graduates bring a refreshing passion for rural NZ to FMG and I help them to start a career in agriculture. It’s great to see them grow to have successful careers at FMG.”

Emma feels proud to work for an organisation that goes above and beyond for its clients. Her most unforgettable memory is FMG’s response to the Kaikoura Earthquake. “When the earthquake struck, the team got in touch with all clients within days of the event to ensure they were safe, as well as sending out care packages to those affected in the run up to Christmas. I feel honoured to be working for an organisation that cares so much about their clients.”

Finally, Emma believes that “people are respected and valued, which is seen in every decision made and our values really underpin everything we do, at all levels”.
