Insures you for your legal liability for accidental loss to the property of others or accidental injury to any other person in connection with your business. It also provides cover for your legal defence costs.
Cover for accidental loss to other people’s property caused by your animal escaping or wandering while they are under your or your employee’s control. There is also cover for accidental loss to the property of others caused by objects or harmful materials (other than liquids or sprays) being thrown up from your farm vehicle or caused by trees on your property falling in a storm. Cover is up to $5,000, or you can choose a higher limit.
Up to $10,000 of cover for your liability for accidental loss to other people’s property that is in your care.
For policies effective from 1 July 2019, this limit has now been extended from $10,000 per event to $250,000 in the aggregate for all events during the period of insurance (including $50,000 for any property hired, leased or rented) to coincide with the retirement of our Bailee’s Liability Optional Benefit.

Cover for your liability as a bailee for accidental loss to the property of other’s that’s in your control at your premises.
For policies effective from 1 July 2019, our Bailee’s Liability Optional Benefit is being retired and replaced by an extended Property in Your Care (PIYC) Automatic Benefit. The new PIYC Automatic Benefit provides cover previously provided by our Bailee’s Liability Optional Benefit, and goes further by providing cover for property hired, leased or rented.
Covers your liability for compensatory damages as a result of an employee injuring themselves in connection with your business, provided this isn’t covered by the Accident Compensation Corporation.
Some benefits have a maximum payment amount specified in the policy wording. All other payment limits will be set out in your insurance certificate.
For the Employer’s Liability Optional Benefit reasonable and necessary legal defence costs are included in the payment limits. For any other liability cover reasonable and necessary legal defence costs are on top of the liability limit, up to the value payable under the relevant benefit.
