At FMG, we're always looking for practical ways to support the industries that underpin rural New Zealand Aotearoa. Already underfoot in some of our offices, wool is now even making its way up the walls.

Made from New Zealand Aotearoa strong wool, Floc acoustic panels have been installed in FMG’s Christchurch, Wellington and Hastings offices. They help manage sound and create more comfortable, functional workspaces while showcasing a fibre that remains an important part of many of our clients’ businesses.

For FMG Sustainability Specialist Emma Rowe, it was a natural fit for FMG to use a wool product to not just decorate but strengthen how the buildings perform acoustically.

"As a Mutual, our clients' success is our success. That's why we're always looking for practical ways to support the industries behind FMG. Floc is a great example of Kiwi innovation creating new opportunities for wool, transforming a natural, renewable fibre into products we need" she said.

While supporting New Zealand Aotearoa wool was an attractive part of the story, the decision was also driven by the needs of the workplace.

“Acoustics play an important role in our modern offices, helping create spaces where people can collaborate, meet and work comfortably. Floc’s panels gave us a solution that was both functional and visually appealing,” Emma added.

In some locations, custom-printed panels featuring FMG values and messaging have also been incorporated into the design.
