The Northern region has a strong, diverse farming community - from dairy to horticulture, sheep and beef to cropping - that is driven by hardworking, down-to-earth people who genuinely support one another.
Outside of farming, we’re lucky to live in one of the best parts of the country, with great weather year-round and an unbeatable outdoor lifestyle. Whether it’s fishing, hunting, or time at the beach after work, there’s always something to do, making it easy to work hard but still enjoy life outside the farm.
When you vote for Northern, you’re voting to support Blood Cancer NZ and the Northern team.
“I chose Blood Cancer New Zealand because blood cancer has personally impacted our local community. Earlier this year, we lost a young local after a battle with blood cancer, and it really hit home how important support and research are for families going through those situations. Rural communities are incredibly tight-knit, and when something like that happens, everyone feels it. Supporting Blood Cancer NZ would be a way to honour his memory while helping other families facing similar challenges. It’s a cause that means a lot to me personally and something I know the wider community will get behind as well.” Justin Ruygrok, Northern representative.
