If your house keys, locks, or electronic keypads are lost or stolen, we’ll pay to replace them.
Up to $5,000 for hidden damage caused over time by a leaking internal waste or water pipe.
We cover up to $20,000 to repair or replace your retaining walls after a loss.
FMG’s Home policy covers your house, including additional structures like garages, sheds, gates, fences, patios, and driveways.
As New Zealand’s leading rural insurer, FMG’s Home policy considers rural residential risks. This includes automatic cover to replace or rebuild your septic tank which hasn’t been damaged but needs to be reconnected following a claim on your home.
Our policy also covers damage caused by natural disaster event including earthquake, tsunami, hydrothermal activity, or landslip. If the loss to your home is also covered by EQC (Earthquake Commission), we will pay the difference between your EQCover and the cover you have under this policy.
This policy also automatically covers your legal liability for damage or loss you cause to someone else’s property, or accidental bodily injury to another person, at your section.

Excess free glass and sanitary fixtures (FMG recommended)
If your claim is for damage to glass doors, windows or skylights, permanently fixed mirrors that are part of the house, hand basins, baths, toilet bowls or glass shower doors, you won’t have to pay an excess.
Lifestyle block fencing
Insures fencing or windbreaks used for operations on your lifestyle block for present day value, up to $5,000.
Lifestyle block pumps and motors
Pumps and motors used to service your lifestyle block are insured against breakdown or failure, up to the value of $5,000.
Matching floor coverings
If your carpet or other floor coverings need replacing after a loss covered by this policy, and you can’t find a match for what you have in other rooms, then we’ll replace the lot.
