Rescue costs
Up to $5,000 towards the cost of rescuing you and your passengers from coastal waters after a loss.
Liability
Covers the legal liability of you and those you approve to use your boat for accidental personal injury to others or damage to their property, including water skiing activities.
Natural disaster
Cover for damage caused by an earthquake, volcanic eruption, tsunami, hydrothermal activity or landslip.
Salvage costs
We’ll pay up to 25% of your sum insured to cover the cost of salvaging or removing, and safeguarding the wreck of your boat.
FMG’s Boat policy covers you at sea and on dry land. Your boat, outboard motor and trailers, its machinery, accessories and fittings are all covered under this policy for accidental loss.
If you choose to add or replace a boat on this policy, you’re covered for present day value, up to $100,000, as long as you let us know the details within 30-days of the purchase and pay any extra premium required.
We cover your legal liability when operating someone else’s boat (with consent), damage caused by water skiing activities or towing of another boat, and for sail racing if your boat is wind powered.
What we pay
Present day value
Repair or replacement of your boat to the same condition it was in just before the loss, so we consider age and condition at the time. Think of it as similar to secondhand value.
